"Wonderland" is the first SIngle from the album "Fields".
Musically, it is probably the closest to Pop Axel Kruse has ever gotten. The Basic-Tracks of drums and bass are by Martin Denzin (Someday Jacob) and Detlef Wiedeke (Vintage Music, Behrste). Axel Kruses 'long time friend Martin Denzin offeded to play the drums for one of this albums tracks. Wonderlands seemed to be the perfect fit for this offer. Wiedeke contributed the bass. "The rest" was recorded at the studio of Dirk Bewig.
Jens Potenberg contributed the second guitar, katharina-Dorothea Lichte and Till Brüggemann added to the fat sond of the choir, Dirk Bewig put a piano underneath all of that. By far, Wonderland took the most time of any track of this album to produce.
The Lyrics are about the search of the spirit of days gone by, asking what happend to all the dreams and wishes. Where did we lose the magic of new beginnigs, and every move is bought and sold immediatly?
The Video supporting the track was done by Enno Greh. The current discussion between the generations made it apperent, that these questions maintain their relvancy. The visiuals are their own interpretation of the lyrics.

Wonderland
The wishes of my childhood days
Are they gone or are they just transformed
The moon that shines above me now
Was already that way when I was born
I believed in something good
Something that would guide me through the fields
And if it was not mum and dad
There would be some kings and queens instead
The moon stood high
The sea was wild
And everything I could not hide/ write
It turned to quicksand in the end
I believed in wonderland
I believed that we could change the world
I believed in circumstances
And that painting expresses hurt
Now there’s no more open field
Children have grown up, love turned away
Though there are some good ideas
There is no impulse to hold the shield
If I went back to wonderland
Would there be some signs that could reveal
What we dreamt on shifting sand
What we haven’t found and could not feel
The moon stood high…
I believed in wonderland…
Now there’s no more wonderland
Never did believe in wonders at all
Now the streets of wonderland-
They have been sold
