"Underneath A Fatherless Sky" is the fourth and last single release of the upcoming album "KING OF BITTER SORROW" by the norwegian artist Ben Lorentzen.

Ben Lorentzen writes about the song:
"Humanity has trudged this earth while asking the same questions throughout the ages. Where do we come from? Where are we going? Is there a point to it all? Or is this merely all by chance, an incredible happy accident or a complicated, meaningless joke…? These questions have been with me as far as I can remember. So I have read religious texts, studied philosophy and because of my work as a social worker been exposed to a small sliver of psychology. The most interesting aspect of the human experience, in my opinion, is the proven fact that we have a conscience. And that this is something we all share, something we have in common.
This song, to me , imagines a “leaving the garden” like setting with two characters cast at the center. I see them as representatives of the human history, looking for a way to understand themselves, pulled forward by their conscience, a ballerina and a singer, discovering themselves through the art they are making."

Ben Lorentzen schreibt über das Lied:
Menschen wandern über die Erde und fragen sich seit Ewigkeiten die selben Fragen. Wohe rkommen wir. Was ist der Sinn des Lebens? Oder ist doch alles nur eine Laune der Natur, ohne großen Plan, lediglich aus reinem Zufall entstanden, ein großer, bedeutungsloser Witz? Diese Fragen begleiten mich seitdem ich denken kann. Ich habe Bücher über Religion und Philosophy gelesen, und durch meine Arbeit als Sozialarbeiter einen kleinen Einblick in die Psychologie bekommen. Der interessanteste Punkt von alle dem, meiner Meinung nach, ist, dass wir alle ein Bewußtsein haben. Dieses Bewußtsein ist was uns verbindet und wir alle teilen.
In dem Lied geht es um zwei Charakter die den "Garten verlassen". Diese beiden stellen für mich die menschliche Geschichte da, die nach Antworten zu den großen Fragen suchen, motiviert durch ihr Bewußtsein. Durch die Kunst die sie erschaffen versuchen Sie sich selbst zu finden."
