Born Martin Stamper, he became "Fast Heart Mart" when he passed out and died a few times and was finally diagnosed with a heart condition that makes his heart fibrillate or race. Don't worry, he now has a defibrillator that shocks his heart back into beating and he can keep singing songs. His music is very interesting and funny. Fast Heart Mart sings, plays guitar, banjo and harmonica sometimes by myself (solo) and sometimes with a band. His music is a blend of rock-folk-punk-old time country-raga OR Sonic Folk-Rock for short.
Established in 1999, Fast Heart Mart toured a lot in his Volkswagen Vanagon (32,000 miles on vegetable oil), playing shows from coast to coast in the USA, toured both islands of New Zealand, released about 10 albums, and opened for some really great musical acts, such as The Handsome and Beck.
 Fast Heart Mart has come to believe that his heart condition lead him on his path of spirituality and art. Originally from Virginia, Fast Heart Mart lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for 14 years, then in August of 2013 he moved to San Diego, CA where he is currently happily residing.
